About Us



Gordon and Vicki have been small business owners since the early eighties. Gordon, as a builder has constructed a good number of homes for clients in the Hutt Valley, Wellington area. Vicki has always been involved with him in these activities and has a good knowledge of the building industry


In the late eighties the opportunity came up to take over the running of Harcourt Holiday Park, and out of our experiences there, Portacabin was born


During our time at the Holiday Park we found we had a need for additional basic accomodation so purchased a few caravans to rent. We found particularly during winter these were cold and damp and difficult to heat. Thus, we came up with an idea of portable cabins and found people loved them. The had a veranda to protect from the rain, insulation and were easily heated. With decent furniture and a comfortable bed they proved to be very popular
